Standard Chartered has completed its panel review, with Dentons and Eversheds Sutherland understood to have won first time spots.
Both firms have been appointed to the global roster for the first time, alongside Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) and Slaughter and May.
Other reappointments are believed to include the magic circle, Hogan Lovells and Baker & McKenzie.
Standard Chartered’s legal team is led by group general counsel David Fein.
He was given responsibly for the top job after a “realignment” of the bank’s compliance and legal capabilities in 2015.
Standard Chartered also appointed ICAP general counsel Duncan Wales as deputy general counsel in the same year, but he quit last summer to become CEO of investment firm Exotix.
All firms declined to comment on the review.
