Pinsent Masons former real estate practice head Adrian Barlow has joined Irwin Mitchell as national head of real estate.

In his new role, Barlow will be responsible for leading a team of over 30 commercial real estate partners and more than 40 other commercial real estate lawyers across eight UK offices.

At Pinsent Masons, Barlow was the group head of property for 12 years until May 2016. He qualified at Pinsent Masons in 1989, and was made a partner in 1994.

When Barlow stepped down in 2016, he was replaced by partner James Crookes as group head of property.

“Adrian is an exceptional leader who has shown throughout his career a genuine interest in people and managing talent within his team,” Irwin Mitchell business legal services division chief executive Vicky Brackett said.

“The appointment clearly reflects our ambition to grow our business legal services division through individuals who have both a superb track record in their sector and the proven ability to provide first-class client care.”

Earlier this month Irwin Mitchell also announced the appointment of Wannops real estate partner Robert Stangroom into its Southampton office.

These new appointments means that Irwin Mitchell now has 40 partners and over 80 lawyers that concentrate on real estate across both the commercial and residential sectors.
