Eversheds Sutherland – which officially merged today (1 February) – has revealed a list of its major clients.
These include tech giants Facebook, Microsoft and Siemans as well as soft drinks magnate Coca-Cola and General Electric.
Big ticket US clients on Sutherlands’ side include the likes of Morgan Stanley Capital Group and tech firm Verizon, which holds around $100bn in revenue.
The tie-up has resulted in Eversheds Sutherland becoming the 39th largest firm by revenue globally, and has pushed Eversheds into the top 10 law firms in the UK, where it will rank tenth. The combined revenue of both firms is £600m.
It is understood that the talks between the two firms commenced at the start of 2016, although the merger talks were revealed in December.
Eversheds Sutherland has also confirmed that around 25 per cent its combined client list are already shared clients. Managing partner and CEO-elect of Eversheds, Lee Ranson told The Lawyer: “Out of our top 100 clients, nearly a quarter of them are common clients, which is a significant percentage.”
He also claimed there were no conflicting issues within both firms’ existing client bases.
The merger with Sutherland added an additional 178 partners to Eversheds’ 358-strong partnership and US offices in Atlanta, Austin, Geneva, Houston, New York, Sacramento, and Washington DC.
